The Need

Tanzania
The government in Tanzania creates the curriculum and pays the teachers while the community is responsible for the maintenance of the school. In the village of Olasiti, the average yearly income per family is between only $90 and $100. Olasiti Primary School has over 1900 students and desperately needs more classrooms. The school is overcrowded and many students are forced to stand. The villagers of Olasiti sorely lack the resources to pay for more classrooms.
